Birth control pills and ovulating?!
Question: I keep looking at other women's posts saying that they're on birth control but experience some side effects when they ovulate. I thought the point of birth control was to prevent your ovaries from releasing eggs? If not, what the hell am I wasting my money on?!! Am I confused or are they?

They are confused, not you. The way the pill prevents pregnancy is by inhibiting ovulation. Those women were obviously not paying attention or never had it explained to them how the pill works.
Birth control basically fools your body into thinking that your pregnant so that you dont ovulate. I personally don't experience anything. I did when i first started, but not anymore. good luck!
