motrin, hot bath curl up with a heating pad and take a nap- in that order. works well.

Midol

Midol doesnt work for me either, i used to get the worst cramps ever, to the point of throwing up. I tried birth control, and it did seem to help a lot with the cramping, i still had it but it wasnt as bad. I also found the most helpful was taking a hot bath, and also curling up on the couch/bed in the fetal position with a heating pad on my abdomin. But the thing that made my cramps minimal was having a child, lol

Good Luck

hiya, i find....obviously a hot water bottle(every1 knows!)....but evening primose oil in tablet form cures all known period pain!as its herb youll have to take it before your period..as its not instant pain relief...(can be bad if u take too much tho, so watch out)...also iron helps relieve period pain :-), i take folic acid and i find it helps :-)

I suffered terribly with cramps & none of the over the counter medicines worked. Go see your Doctor & ask him to prescribe a medication that will work. The drug I used was called Anaprox. It's a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that worked wonders for me. Women do not have to suffer agony every month with their periods.

Sassafras tea. MOst of my local supermarkets sell it in a concentrate the brand name I see all the time is pappy's but I'm sure there are other ones. SOme of that with some warm water helps.

Also get up outta bed and take a brisk walk. While it never feels good at the time getting the blood flowing seems to relieve them for longer than midol, hotwater, or anything else put together. Usually I go out take a 30 min. brisk walk and they seem to ease up for the rest of the period.

i try to eat healthy and exercise around my period. that usually helps. when i'm on a good diet, i don't even get cramps. also, a lot of it is genetics. take 3 advil.

put something warm on your stomach and go lay down with your stomach

If you are experiencing symptoms of menstrual cramps, it's important to see your doctor to be properly diagnosed.

Although certain natural remedies show some promise, there hasn't been enough research at this point to conclude they're effective. Here are some of the more popular natural remedies for menstrual cramps.

- Magnesium
- Acupressure
- Omega-3 Fatty Acids
- Low-fat diet
- Vitamin E
- Vitamin B1
- Heat (such as a heat pack, warm bath/shower)
- Aromatherapy
- Massage
- Calcium
- Chiropractic
- Exercise
- You could go to the chemist and ask them for something for the pain

I would recommend that if painful cramps during your period is so bad that it interferes with your daily activities or causes you to miss work/school because of it, that you definitely see your doctor/gynaecologist for further evaluation as painful periods can sometimes be caused by conditions such as endometriosis which can sometimes cause severe pain from an early age (although the pain typically gets worse as the disease does more damage with each monthly cycle). Other causes can include fibroids, pelvic inflammatory disease and sometimes a narrowing of the cervix.

Hope this helps. Good luck :)
