Taller? Plz answer.?!
Question: okay, i am 14 years of age, and i am roughly 5'2", maybe a little shorter. my mom is 5'5", my dad is 5'10". Both of them, when growing up had VERY late growth spurts. like my dad didnt get taller until like 17, and my mom didnt get taller until 16. However, everyone is telling me that i will never get any taller than i am now. this is upsetting me to the point of tears, i dont want to stay this height forever!

My daughter is exactly the same. The best way to find out is a quick trip to your doctor(next check up). You or your parent mention your concerns to him and he will be able to give you the information you seek. They can do a bone scan (painless) to see how "old" your bones are. Sometimes your bone age is younger than the rest of you. Meaning you will be a late bloomer.
If you are under the 3rd percentile for your height, the doctor may check your growth hormone level. However you do not seem short enough to need this service.
Also based on your parents height he will give you a very reliable estimate.
We had these tests done and my daughter was greatly relieved! Her bones are 1 year younger than she is!

You will most likely grow. Even if you don't, I wouldn't sweat it.

All you got to do is just wait and see, since you said they both still grew at older ages! If you stay the same height forever, don't hate yourself because of it, just wear taller shoes or something!
You are still in the process of growing at 14 years old. You have not yet grown to your final adult height and you should not be upset about the height you are now.

When I was 14 I was your height but now I'm 5'4", and almost 19.
This is mainly because I have scoliosis and my back is not straight...do you have it? I bet I'd be 5'6" or so.
Also gravity can make you shorter, so stretch and exercise, eat healthy.
If you want to take extremes, get your legs stretched. That's what desperate people with dwarfism do.
And btw you're definitely not a dwarf.
im 16. anf 5'2. my mom is 5'3. im not getting any taller. dont be sad! embrace it! i love being short becuz short guys want to date me. they dont want no tall chick. so you are lucky. the only thing that sucks is my jeans drag on the ground. i have 2 go 2 a tailor. but i love it and you should too

Sounds like they are pulling your chain. Look at your parents, they know better - so should you.
Maybe these negative ones would care to put money on a bet for, say, 4 years from now?
You may grow another inch or 2 between now and when you stop growing around age 21, but chances are you may not. What's wrong with being 5'2"??? I'm 5'2" and I love it, I've been this height since I was 12. One great thing about being on the shorter side is you never have to worry about being taller than your boyfriend! Pants can sometimes be hard to find, but most places have petites and those really fit!
I know it may be hard right now because maybe all yoru friends are taller and 14 is a tough age anyway, but don't worry about it. I'm am sure there are other kids your height too. Hang in there someday you will learn to love your height too!
You still have time to grow. My sister is 14 and she is still growing. Taller and fatter ;)
never let that kind of thing bother you. im 6 feet tall and have always been the 'monster' when i was growing up. but, since you are fourteen, there is no telling how much more you could grow. women dont stop growing until they are 23 years old and boys stop at 18 (i believe its 18, if not older) (thats a medical fact!) and even if you stay 5'2" for the rest of your life - we ogres, we call you guys cute.
for men it's normal to just get their growth spurt at 16-18
since you're only 5'2" and your parents are both over 5'5" you'll probably grow within a year or two to be like 5'6"
you shouldn't be upset about it, I know people far shorter than you who are happy to be short :D

I was...am in the same situation as you.
I just had a 15th birtday a few weeks ago, but when I was 14 I was 5'1.5 and I'm slowly getting taller.
My Mother is 5'7 and my Dad is 5'9 and now I'm almost 5'3!
So don't sweat it...
even if you don't grow, you'll still be cool.

im 12 almost 13 and i am ONLY 4'10 and u think ur short!! my moms only 5'1 and stopped growing when she was 13. so if i have a growth spurt it will have to b soon, or this is all the taller im gonna get..... ur r a good height, ur taller than my mom and my one bff. its not fair, im soo much shorter than you!! and everyone else. man now at the point of tears, becuz thinking about all that and how all my friends are tall and always calling me short, and until now i liked to be their shorty! but now they r all getting taller, and i am staying the same height!
