you could be 14 15, it's whenever your body wants it.
Dont' rush it, because when you get, you wont want it.
It varies. There are a few factors that contribute to when girls start:
1) Body mass index (eg. total body fat) Women need to have a certain amount of fat for the body to be ready for the first period. If you have more body fat, you are more likely to start earlier than your peers.
This also means that if you are more athletic, which contributes to your having less body fat overall, you will tend to start later than your peers.
2) Ethnicity. African American teens tend to start sooner than Caucasians, and Asians tend to start later.
3) Genetics. Some girls just start sooner than others because it's inherited. Ask your mom when she started, and it could give you a good idea.
Something that you can watch for is when you hit puberty. If you are noticing pubic hair, breast development, etc. that means you are starting. Girls tend to get their periods within 2 years after the start of puberty.
Periods can start as early as 8 years old to as late as 15-16 years old, and this is just an estimate. If you are in good health and you're not having any strange symptoms, you're probably perfectly normal. Just give it time, it will come. Don't worry. I hope this helps.
By the way, I started when I was 11, and I'm Asian, so I don't fall neatly into what's expected either. The average age is changing over time, so it's not the best predictor if you want to know when you will start.

In my family all of four girls we all started at the end of the year we turned 13. It depends on your size. The girls at school who were small and petite began theirs at 15 and I knew a girl who was a national gymnast who was very small and fit and she got hers at 18.
