I'm new to the cardio/toning thing so how many pounds should my dumbells be?!

I recommend very low weights. For me its 5 pound for toning and I use 1 pound wrist and ankle weights with my cardio. Do lots of repetitions with them low weight + high reps = tone. Between these two it seems to help tone my legs and arms. I do a lot of running too that is great for legs and bum. Just make sure you diet is balanced and don't over do it.

If it is a class you are taking try 2 1/2 pounds, it you are lifting on your own try 5. You will know if is too much. The other ladies in my class, the beginners, start at 2 1/2, and then not more than 5
