Stopped birth control?! Pain in stomach.?!


Question: I stopped taking my birth control three days ago abrubtly after being on it for a year. I am not pregnant. I have pain in my lower abdomen it feels like its on my ovaries. Has anyone else experienced this?

I'll call my doctor monday, since it is Saturday, they are not open.

It's very likely that your hormones are just changing levels and the pain is a direct result of that. For a year your hormones were controlled by the Pill, and all of a sudden that source of hormones is taken away.
Another reason is the possibility of menstruation/ovulation. Many women take the Pill as a means of pain-control. The hormones keep the pain at a minimum and now that they aren't there, you may be feeling yourself ovulate, which some women report as pain in the ovaries.
Nevertheless, it is still a good idea to see your doctor.
