Your mom wont get mad, yeast infections are NOT like STDs. Have a chat with her and she'll no doubt be sympathetic, yeast infections affect all women and are horrible!
The doctor will be able to prescribe you with creams and pessaries but if you cant see the doc for a while, buy some natural BioLive yoghurt (No flavoring) and dab a little of that on. Hope this helps sweetie :)

dont be scared just tell her she will know what to do

im 16 and i had a yeast infection a couple of months ago. i told my mum while we were in a car together. it was embarrassing but she is my mum and knows all about it, she told me not to worry and was glad i told her, we got some creme and it cleared up. you really need to tell your mum.

Please go to your Doctor he she will help you and it will be confidential.

Aww don't be scared Hun!! Yeast infections can be caused by taking antibiotics. Don't be worried to talk to her, trust me the itching wont go away until its treated.

Honey, Don't be scary to ask your mom. I really think you needs tell you mom about yeast infection. She will be very happy to answer for you.

Let tell you about Yeast Infection?

Various conditions, such as bacterial vaginosis and trichomoniasis, a sexually transmitted disease (STD), can cause vaginal symptoms similar to those of a yeast infection. If you need help determining which condition you have, see the Check Your Symptoms section of the topic Vaginal Problems.

What is a vaginal yeast infection?
A vaginal yeast infection is an excess growth of yeast cells in the vagina. Yeast infections are very common in women of childbearing age but can occur at any age. Although they can be uncomfortable, vaginal yeast infections rarely lead to serious health problems.

What causes a vaginal yeast infection?
A healthy vagina normally contains many bacteria and small numbers of yeast cells. The most common bacteria found in the vagina, Lactobacillus acidophilus, help prevent other organisms, such as yeast, from growing in excess and causing an infection. About 70% to 90% of yeast infections are caused by a strain of yeast called Candida albicans.

When there is a change in the normal balance of organisms in the vagina, yeast can overgrow, causing symptoms. This imbalance can be caused by many factors, including use of broad-spectrum antibiotics for other conditions, high estrogen levels (as during pregnancy or hormone replacement therapy), or certain medical conditions, such as diabetes or HIV infection.

It is a very good idea to go to your mom for help. Like another answerer said, it is NOT an STD. Getting a yeast infection can be the result of simply wearing underwear made of the wrong material. I would definitely talk to mom because you don't want to treat something with antibiotics if you don't know it is not a bacterial infection. It's best to go to a doctor for your first yeast infection and then you will be familiar with the signs of what you definitely know is a yeast infection if you happen to get more.
I really recommend checking out http://www.vaginapagina.com for more information.

You have no reason to be afraid to tell your Mom. It is not your fault you got a yeast infection, unless it is your fault you are a female. :)

Simply wearing synthetic (not cotton) underwear can bring on yeast infections. Even baby girls can get yeast infections because of wearing diapers. Your Mom has ZERO reason to give you a negative reaction (if she does, send her to me!).

Yeast is caused by moisture not being able to escape the area (this is why it's important to always dry yourself well down there after bath or swimming).

go ahead and tell mom, I know its embarrassing, but she will know what to do. and no worries, usually mom won't be mad, yeast infestions can be caused by what you eat, antibotics, meds, etc...but you can get it from sex, as you can get many, many other things. But tell mom about your problem...does it itch, or just heat rash from being locked up in tight undies all day? You may just have a heat rash....does baby powder help, but it could be worse and cause you worse probs..tell mom...

Hey baby girl:

You should research yeast infection and find out what it is really about.

It is true, if you have a cold and the doctor puts you on antibiotics you can get a yeast infection if you use dairy products while taking the medication....no milk, ice cream, yogurt, pudding, ect.

You can also get a yeast infection by wearing your pants too tight. Also the dye in the crotch of your underpants can give you the yeast infection. Thats why you should only wear a white cotton crotch in your underpants.

I am letting you know that there are many reasons for having a yeast infection, so hopefully you won't be afraid to talk to your mom. Mom knows there are many things that cause yeast infection. She will understand and have you taken care immediately, I am sure. Yeast infection is very uncomfortable and noone likes their children to be uncomfortable.

If you are sexually active and think that is how you got it, don't worry about that either. Let mom know and she can help protect you with that also. She might be upset, but she loves you. We as parents realize that our children are living in a different generation from us, as we lived in a different generation from our parents. She will get over it, but she will talk to you and perhaps get birth control for you so that you don't mess up your life at an early age. Not telling her can have serious consequences!

NEVER HAVE SEX WITHOUT A CONDOM!

Good Luck!

sweetie you should not be afraid to tell your mother about a yeast infection or anything else for that matter. you could go and get a an over the counter meds or your mom could take you to the doctor to make sure that this is whats going on, especially if you're sexually active... and I'm not saying that you are

never ever be afraid to talk to your mom about something. shes a woman to so she would be the best person to talk to. and like the other said talk to your mom and go to the doctor so you could get some medicine.

i hope that you get better.

Yeast infections occur naturally in girls your age. It is likely that your mom has them too. They do not indicate that you have had sex. You need to get antifungal cream. Canestan is best. You need to go to the doctor. Tell your mom. She will understand and everything will be ok.

You should tell your mom. A yeast infection can be casued by many things. Were you on antibiotics recently? Try eating some yogurt. If it is a yeast infection, your mom can get you an over the counter cream to ttreat the infection, but it's MOST important to make sure that is actually what it is, and not some other type of vaginal infection. With a yeast infection, you will have itching, odor, and whitish discharge. I understand being afraid to tell your mom, but as a mom, I can promise you, your health is the most important thing to her!
