Girls only pleez?!

Question: Okay. My period has been really unusual. They used to be 4 weeks apart and that is normal. Then they started to grow closer together. Could it just be that I just got my period in the past year and a half (yes I am a teen) that they are just irregular? They are only about 2 weeks apart now, and its annoying. I know that they can be irregular in the teenage years but is this normal?

2 weeks apart is unusual and sounds annoying. I would say see a doctor. It might be what's normal for you, but if you bleed a lot and it's that often you could be at risk of anaemia. Contrary to other answers, I don't think birth control is a good idea at this stage - it doesn't regulate your periods really, just masks them and causes monthly (withdrawal) bleeding. Anyway the doctor should look for an underlying cause and then approach a treatment instead of just suppressing your periods.

If you get birth control you can regulate your period and even know what week you will get your period. Search planned parenthood and make an appointment online. You get it for free!

Irregular periods can mean nothing. But, you should ask your doctor to be sure. There could be a hormonal problem. Or, it could be due to something as simple as stress. Still - talk to your doc. Good Luck!

yeah that happens for the first couple years!!

Yeap dear when i first had mine many years ago they were always irregular it took 2 years for it to be constant but even now if im like super stress i sometimes skip it. So just eat healthy and try not to stress yourself too much

yes yes...you are still young dont worry!! : ) irregular

its normal your body is still going though adjustments birth control would help alot just talk to your mom about it i am sure she could give you some help

In most cases...the period is only irregular in the first year of the menstral cycle. Closer together, when it usually should be spaced 28-30 days apart, or sometimes girls skip a month or two. But, after that it should become regular and consistant. If this has been going on for quiet sometime, I'd go to your doctor for a check up. Hope this helps.

If you get your period every 2 weeks, you may want to go on birth control pill just to have a more normal cycle. Nothing is wrong with you, but who wants to get their period that often?!?!

yes honey. that hapeend to me too.and it's normal. but I wanted to make it regular and I used CIPROTERON COMPOUND. Now it's good

i don't know anyone who was ever that irregular but just go see your doc he or she can fix it if its becoming a real problem. try asking them about the pill just about everyone uses it at some stage because it can help regulate things, clear up your skin and you can even use it to skip your period all together. whether or not they will prescribe will most likely depend on your age but you can try

When I was a teen, I used to think the same thing. It can only be determined by seeing a gyn. Cycles can be from as early as 21 days to as late as 30 days. Start counting from the very first day that you get you period to the next time that it comes around, if it falls into the 21 to 30 day range , then you are okay, but if it's like every 15 days or so then you are very irregular and need to see the doc so that you can get something to help your body regulate your cycle. You may not be as irregular as you may be thinking. Also take into consideration that something in your life may be affecting you negatively which can cause your period to be irregular.
