White... then brown discharge?!

Question: For about a year now, I've been getting a white gooey discharge coming out of my vagina, and now for the past two or three days it's been brown...? I haven't gotten my period yet, and does this mean I will get it soon, or what?

Also, the discharge is really bothering me, should I use a pad or tampon?

Congratulations, you just got your period!
For white discharge, wear a pantyliner. NEVER use a tampon unless you are on your period, and you know how and are allowed.
When you first begin your period, it usually is brown, sometimes even so dark it looks almost black. It can range from light pink to dark brown.
Know what to do, and tell your mom :)

Definitely don't use a tampon. Tampon use is associated with Toxic Shock Syndrome, so there is no good reason to use them unless you're on your period. Are you having sex? The brown discharge could be implantation bleeding if there's a possibility you're pregnant. Other than that, I'm not sure. If it continues for more than 2 weeks, go see your doctor.

This is normal and it won't be ling now. Do not wear a tampon - wear a pany liner.

Brown discharge is probably old blood and you will get your period any day now. The vagina is a naturally self-cleaning organ so the white discharge is just yourself cleaning itself out... unless its itchy or foul smelling, I wouldnt worry about it.

Yes this is the main sign i had before i got my first period.
Your saying it's turned brown.. well then that is your period.
It starts off brown. Congrats.
Use a PAD as you have STARTED you period.
Talk to your mum so she can buy you pads, i wouldnt use tampons they are so uncomfortable and they really hurt!!

Good Luck :)

This could be the start of your period. For some women, periods start off as very light bleeding. The brown discharge could be old blood from your previous period.
Do not use a tampon unless you are sure you are on your period- this could be as simple as normal discharge combined with a small cut in your vagina, or something else and a tampon will not help the scenario. As I'm sure you know, tampons are associated with Toxic Shock Syndrome and should not be used unless you are full-on menstruating and even then you should use the lightest absorbency appropriate.
Use a pad.
If your discharge is accompanied by itching or an unpleasant smell, or doesn't disappear in a few days, you may want to consider making an appointment with a doctor.

im having to same problem as u and ive been told that its ur period coming
