Are there any long term effects of taking birth control for extended periouds of!


Question: I have been on the pill for around 10 years. I have read about it on several different sites. Some say it causes cancer, some say it decreases risk of cancer... Some say it causes problems with infertility later, others say it doesn't.... I am so damn confused.....

P.S.: the best way to protect yourself against these hazardous health effects, is NOT having regular pelvic exams while you're still on these medications, but to quit taking synthetic hormones.

I believe it increases the risk of blood clotting and heart attacks, especially if you are over 35 or if you smoke. I've been on it for 6 years.
