Question: just started taking birth control. i started my period on sunday i took the birth control pill on wensday and i've been LIGHTLY bleeding and it is sunday. i usally have my period for 5 days and its been 8 days.
so can i have un protected sex i've been on the pill for 5 days but im still bleeding

id wait a little longer before unprotected sex.. the pills are jus getting in ur system..
and when i started my bc.. i had a period last 10 days! it was hell.. had weird bleeding too..

Its very common to be on your period for a LONG time if you have just started taking the pill, so don't worry.
Use a condom until your period stops just to make sure you don't get prego.

You need to read your pill package info to know what I am talking about..
IF you start BC the sunday after your period starts, YOU ARE PROTECTED IMMEDIATELY.
The first 1-3 months of BC can be full of spotting, irregular bleeding, and extended periods. This is not dangerous, but it can be annoying.
You need to use condoms for at least two weeks.
Even then you can still get pregnant. Take heed that the ONLY 100% effective form is ABSTINENCE
