Vaginal discomfort?!

Question: im 19 and have been with my current boyfriend for over a year.
we have a healthy sex life but are at different universities so feel the need to make up for not being together all the time when we are.
this weekend after a couple of good 'sessions' thinking my vagina was just tired we left sex for one evening.. the next day we tried and it hurt - a stinging harsh pain on the front of my vagina (as far as i could tell)
we stopped and im waiting to see if it was just over use - one time we had sex, he was quite rough and it was a little dry - but nothing too bad.. so i thought it could just be this...
but now im also getting a yellowy tint to my discharge and am getting more worried...
do i just need to give it more time?
xXx

Sex on a regular basis can be exhausting for a vagina , espically if one of the times you wern't very well lubricated.
Quite often your Vagina will hurt from vigorous sex. I think you should leave it for a few days and be very gentle when washing etc.. try not to wash tooo much with soap because this can wear away a natural lining in your vagina and give you an infection.
If you still suffer from this problem visit your local GP for advice.

You could have a yeast infection. Try taking the meds that you can by at any drug store. If it persists just go to the doctor~! :)

well, i thought it was fine until you said the discharge is yellow. go to your doctor ASAP because you might have a minor STD.. one that's cureable don't worry..

hate to say it but ur boyfriend might've given something to u , that wasn't there before.. did he cheat?

Did you use a condom? if you have been having unprotected sex w/ him for a while and this has never happened . . .im sorry but you may want to get tested for STDs. He may have "picked something up". (dont hit me)

you might have an std. get checked. after all you are at different universities he could be doing stuff you dont know about

I would go to a doctor and lay off the sex for a while.

yeast infection?

SOUNDS LIKE A YEAST INFECTION. THAT WILL MAKE IT DRY & DEF DISCHARGE!
GET SOME ORAL PRESCRIBED MEDS FROM THE DOC, LIKE DIFUCAN.

No girl go to the doctor now!

Make sure to use lube, having sex when you e dry will cause a friction burn and it hurts alot. if you continue to have this drainage and it does not get better get an appt with your GYN and have it checked out

yeah it sounds like you should get yourself checked out medically , if he was dry there is a good chance he made a small cut in there which is causing the stinging pain and it needs time to heal , The yellow discharge is not a good sign go see the doc and get yourself checked good luck girl.

That sounds like a yeast infection. It's normal when a woman has a lot of sex over a short period of time. There are also other causes of a yeast infection, but this is one of them.

...and it hurts like hell, especially when you urinate.

You need to call the doctor to get on some antibiotics ASAP. I won't get better on it's own.
.

This might just be down to him being a bit rough and you being dry but if you are both away at university...he might have slept with someone else. I know you dont want to hear it and i dont want to accuse him of anything because he is a long term boyfriend. If he has slept with someone he may have given you an infection but this is probably not the reason! Someones you can get bacterial infections without even having sex so if in a few days the problem carries on the see your doctor. Good luck and hope everything is ok xxx

I have no medical advice to give because I am not a health care professional. But it's your body and anything that seems abnormal to you should definitely spark a trip to doctor's office just to make sure. Please read link that I've attached.

Hi,

Don't get too too worried, it seems like it my be a simple case of vaginitis, which represents a group of various infections that can happen. Nothing too crazy, but just mild infections that happen when the PH or normal bacteria levels in the vagina change. It could be a yeast infection, or maybe bacterial vaginosis. The best advice is to suck it up, and go see your gyno, who will put all the worrying to rest, because you'll know exactly what the deal is. Good Luck!

Sounds like sexually transmitted disease. See a doctor immediately.

This could be an indication of infection (giving an example only) but the only way to know for sure is to see your doctor for further evaluation of the situation to see what they think could be going on.

Don't give it more time...there's no reason for you to be in discomfort. Lay off the sex for now, get it checked out. Sounds like a yeast infection to me, which is easily treatable. If it's not, don't rule our those darn STDs.

Yeah, I agree with the majority of your answerers, it sounds like thrush. This makes your inner membranes more sensitive to friction, and also can inhibit lubrication. It sometimes presents a creamy to yellowish, slightly lumpy discharge. So this coupled with lots of sex when you're not used to it (I'm in a long distance relationship too, and the first couple always seem to be more sensitive and, er, tight) is probably the answer. You can get treatments over the counter - Canesten duo is good, you get a single tablet and a soothing cream that shoud knock it on the head. Obviously if symptoms persist see your doctor.

Mostly it is a trichomonas infection which causing a yellow discharge, in this case you need to be treated and also your boy friend (male works as a carrier without any signs) to avoid him to re-infect you.

Also if you or your boyfriend have multi-partners it may increase the incidence of re-infection.

Fungal infection is not suspected (according to your description).

It needs a visit to your doctor to prescribe the correct medication.

Remember your boyfriend may need to have the same treatment.
