It can have an odor you are not accustomed to if you are new to having your cycle. That is not unheard of, however if the odor is an unhealthy "fishy" odor and accompanied by abnormal discharge you may want to talk to your doctor. When wiping always start from front to back and wash up with mild soap in the shower. Don't douche no matter what the commercials or signs in the store say, many infections can start from improper douching. I'm sure all is fine with you but if you are still worrisome about it, it never hurts to talk to your doctor. Now that you have your cycle, making an appointment might not be a bad idea. Your doctor may be able to address questions you didn't even know you had!

Yes, unfortunately. Using tampons helps. If using pads, be sure to change them often. Obviously shower every day.

some women do have an odor during menstruation thats why its a good idea to carry the summers eve towelletts and change pads often I dont happen to have that odor but Ii still do these things just as an added precaution and I use the summer's eve powder as well
Yes it's normal. Blood has a smell to it no matter where it comes from. Just keep clean and don't feel embarrassed it's better to ask and then you know. Good luck!
yep, i know what u mean, im new to it too, it stinks eh!? its normal, be sure to clean yourself properly, my mum says to use talcom powder either side of ur leg, havent tried it though, but i might next time...

always also makes pads that come with cleansing cloths, that are helpful and smell nice =]

anyway, yes if it smells bad then just change your pad and take a shower. if ur not near a shower then try to clean ur self with water and toilet paper. if it smells fishy then it could be a yeast infection.
