Tampons-- PLZ help me.?!

Question: I didn't want to ask this question but I suppose I have to. *sigh* : ( People say to spread your legs apart when you put in a tampon... **If you stand up or stuff like that then wont the blood drip all over? I'm sick and tired of sitting in my own freaking blood by using a pad. Today I told my mom that I wanted to use tampons and she said when we had the money she's buy them for me... Uh? We aren't that broke so now I don't want to talk to her about the subject anymore. I'll give the best answer's 10pts to anyone that can give me **step by step instructions on how to find the hole,** put the tampon in, **take it out, **how to properly dispose (wrap them up??) and anything else you can tell me. I know it's different holes but **what happens when you pee or wipe? This is so embarrassing. By the way, I'm 13 and rather freaked out.
Thanks!!

okay, so the thing w/ tampons is that if you use them too much, you can get infections.
don't wear a super obsorbancy if you're blood flow isn't heavy.
go to the store w/ your mom & pick out the right kind.
or go w/ a girlfriend if your mom is freaking out.
there are some that are smaller than others & so on.
when you buy the tampons there always are instructions on how to insert them & dispose of them.
but I will tell you the basics:

you should either sit on the toilet w/ your legs spread wide or squat over the toilet.
if your bleeding alot then wipe it, always down.
you pretty much need to find your vagina w/ your hand first.
then you position the tampon w/ the middle finger on the top & two fingers on the side of the tampon.
this sounds gross, but if you're dry then wiggle the tampon around a little bit at you're hole to lubricate it w/ your blood.
if you ever try to insert a tampon when you're vagina is dry: it will hurt.
then you push w/ the middle finger to push it up.
my cervix is tilted (I have kids thats how I know) so I have to push in at angle & not straight up.
not sure if everyone is like that, but just push slowly w/ a little bit of pressure & it should go in fine.
this is important: if you don't push the tampon in far enough, then it will be uncomfortable or even hurt.
you may even need to do push it up more w/ a finger if the applicator is in the trash.
pretty much every time you need to go pee, you should change your tampon.
the pressure from you peeing will push it out anyway.
when you take it out, go slowly especially if your dry, and pull in a downward direction.
if this happens you're probably using to high an absorbancy.
so it may be a good idea to get a variety of sizes, they do package some like that too.
as for tossing them, wrap them up in alot of tp & bury it in the trash.
you could even carry small ziploc bag to put them in if it grosses you out to toss them like that.

good luck with all this, i don't think there's much more to be said & I cant draw a diagram here for you.
when I was 13 (I'm 30 now), I had a real bad experience because I had NO CLUE how to do all this.
not until I was a few years older did I use them.
I don't like to use them much since for some reason it pretty much stops my period.
don't wear them overnight & for more than a few hours at a time.

I have a friend who was actually in the hospital for a week, very sick, from toxic shock syndrome.
from wearing tampons too much.
so be careful & always talk to your doctor or mom about these things, even if its weird.
how was that?

dude it probably has directions in it...maybe?

Tampons can cause Toxic Shock Syndrome.
Pads are always safer.

squat, (first time i would buy playtex easy glide), every box has step by step instructions with pictures!

OK Heather you can buy a box of 10 slender sized tampons for $2.00 dollars and inside they have very detailed directions and a few different techniques .. it is pretty simple you can sit or stand when you insert a tampon and they can be wrapped up and tossed in the garbage the same way to would dispose a pad.....good luck

go to www.tampax.com and follow the directions for insertion. it's easy

I don't know how to use it either. Honestly, I think pads are safer.

yeah, they do have directions on the package but they're kinda confusing...if you want you can private message me and ill tell you how to do it (you're right this is an embarrassing issue, everyone doesnt have to hear about this)

Oh sweetheart -- I know - it sucks.
I had my cousin standing outside a bathroom door telling me what to do (yes, at your age and I'm what you would consider old).
You have to sit while putting it in.
It IS uncomfortable at first BUT IT JUST TAKES A COUPLE TIMES and you'll get it -- there's only ONE play it WILL go. Don't worry about that part -- you'll get it. You can not stand and put one it -- it won't work well - it won't be in right -- look at the pamphlet that comes in the box -- it makes sense.
You can wrap it up in toilet paper and throw them out -- just wrap them well........
Don't be embarrassed -- what you are going through is NORMAL....

I use tampons when i go out, but when im at my house i use pads (keeping tampons in a long time isnt good for your body) and when i put them in, i dap off all the blood (and hold it for a few seconds so when i open my legs nothing drips out), then i put some lotion on the tampon so its not hard to put in, and spread my legs and take a deep breathe, and gently slide it in at a comfortable spot, and if i dont put it in far enough i gently push it up a little. (if u have cramps i suggest wait a day or 2 til they go away cause tampons can make cramps worse)

Okay, stand over the toilet so you don't get blood on the floor then just put it in. For instructions on how to find the "hole" read the pamphlet that comes with the tampons. There is a detailed description and diagram. Good Luck... Once you get it , you'll wonder how you ever lived without them..

ok, the last guy is right, there are directions in the box. If she has to buy pads, why can't she buy tampons instead! they are so much better. in answer to your questions though, no, you will not be dripping blood if you stand and do it...you do NOT need to do like you said. You can sit on the toilet and put it in. I think you will be able to feel where to put it. Don't worry if it is not comfortable the first time. You need to just make sure you get it in comfortably. You pull on the string to get it out and flush it down the toilet! Just read the instructions in the box.

blood wont drip everywhere. i find it easier to put one leg on the toilet seat while i stand up. you should find the hole easy (just slowly rub it back and fourth and you should find it), there is only two holes it can go in and im sure you know the one it doesn't. just use one finger to slowly push it in, but have it on a slight angle to the back because that is the way your cervix is positioned. in the tampon box, there is normally instructions on how to put it in. to take it out, just pull the sting. you can wrap it in a bit of toilet paper and dispose of it as you would a pad. dont flush it because its not good for when it goes to where ever you sewage goes to. i normally take it out when i go to the toilet and get a new one, DONT WEAR IT TO BED or more than 9 hours.. it is very dangerous.

best thing to do: wash your hands first. squat over the toilet seat. open the tampon. stick the end opposite from the string in your opening. insert it in a couple inches before you push up on the bottom and pull out the cardboard applicator and throw it away. it should fit in comfortably, but if not, push it up a little with your finger. you can pee with it in. when you wipe, go from front back. when disposing of them, you can usually flush them (unless you have a toilet that backs up all the time.)

don't be embarrassed! i wish someone explained this to me.

I don't blame you, I hated pads too! OK here goes....take a mirror and spread your legs. The hole above your anus is your vagina, above that is a tiny hole that is your urethra...where the pee comes out. Unwrap the tampon and place the cotton end into your vagina, push the entire tampon into your vagina until it's in up to the plunger. Push the plunger to get the tampon even higher into your vagina. Pull out the entire applicator, the tampon should be in place. To remove, simply pull the attached string. Wrap the used tampon in toilet paper and discard in the trash. Don't worry about peeing and wiping. You do it just as you always do, the tampon doesn't alter that at all. Good luck Heather, I hope I helped.

first of all i totally agree, i hate pads, they're gross!:(
i use tampons every day when im on :)
okay.
so some people stand up, but i dont lol its not that hard to stick it in.:P
so just spread your legs apart but kindof put your knees up a bit,
the hole you put it in is your 2nd hole, you'll know where it is:P
then slowly put it in for your first time, stick it in untill the grip is at the end, then push the applicator.
make sure you keep it in for like 4 or 5 hours at least because if you pull the string and take it out when its still dry it hurts like a mother lol.
but dont keep it in too long you could get TSS whichis a disease you get for keeping it in too long
keep it in for a MAXIMUM of 8 hours
andd uhhhh thatsabout it lol.

TAMPONS WERE THE GREATES INVENTION :D
good luck;)
muchlove;!<3

sure the box has instructions, but i know what u mean. so anyway, just sit down on the toilet, lol, and basically just push it in slowly in an upward manner. there's not much to find, i mean, if u just push it in it will go...this sounds funny, but really. to dispose, just throw it in a plastic bag and into the trash, ur not supposed to flush them.
*note: don't be afraid of putting it in all the way cus the sting won't break, and if u don't it will feel uncomfortable.

Hey Heather. All girls have been there and done that. I am a mum so can help a bit. I couldn't wait to use tampons when I started periods and the best ones to start with are the ones with applicators (tampax). Here is my step by step guide. If you sit on the toilet with your legs apart it becomes quite easy to insert. It is the front hole you need to use. Push the cardboard applicator in a bit and then push the back of the other part of the applicator (make sure the string is out). It works like a syringe and pushes the tampon into the vagina. They are very good. I tried a couple of times before I got it right. To take the tampon out, sit on the toilet again, legs apart, and pull the string. It should come out quite easily. (If you are dry it takes a bit longer). I wrap them in toilet paper and dispose of them in a bin. When you pee it should be ok, but "dab" rather than wipe afterwards. Don't be embarrassed, you have to ask someone. They are MUCH cleaner than pads as you have already worked out. Say to your mum that you really want to use them, they are better for sport and other things too and you can swim when you have a period as they stay in. Hope that helps.

If you buy a box of tampons the directions are on there. In English and in Spanish on a sheet of paper.

I'll try to make it as short as possible though.

1) take the old tampon out using the string and flush it in the toilette. Most toilette can flush tampons through. If not just seal it back into the new wrapper and throw it away.
2) take the new tampon out of the wrapper (get the plastic applicator ones, NOT the cardboard ones. The plastic ones go in easier)
3) you could do this while sitting on the toilette of standing ( i prefer standing) but spread your legs just enough so that you can fit your tampon in. You'll be able to find "the hole" trust me, it's easier then you think it is.
4) securely put it in by pushing it slowly at a specific angle (tampax boxes have directions with pictures) and when your comfortable with the tampon in you you're done, but make sure the little string is sticking out. (if i recall correctly my first tampon was a little painful but after that was okay)
5) If your not comfortable with the tampon then you probably inserted wrong. Don't panic, just repeat step 1 and put a new one in until you're comfortable with it.
6) you're done! :)

It might be frightening at first but you'll get used to it. Don't worry. I know how you feel right now. I had to use a tampon at the worst time ever, during a volleyball game when i just started my period. :| yeah.. Just know that you're lucky and good luck!

Just read through the directions when you get your first box of tampons. You should switch on and off with pads and tampons. It's better like that. And it's very important to change your tampon every 4 to 6 hours. Oh, and you should know that using tampons could lead you to Toxic Shock Syndrome.

whatever answer you get, make sure you change it every 4 hours...you do not want to keep it in longer than 6 hours or else you risk something called toxic shock syndrome.

Okay here it goes,

the first time you use tampons..RELAX! Don't stress because the more you stress the most nerves you willl be.

Okay what you are going to have to do is squat on the floor and get a small and look" down there"

and you will see a hole here it looks like this

**not a porno sight..it is educational--doctor recomended

click on external view

and anyways what you do is you take the tampon out of the rapper and stick it in that hole..
breath and also tilt it a little to the front.

then stick it up untill you reach the end of the tampon cover
the press the long stick in to insert the tampon.

it will hurt the first time you stick one in. its like a pinch..it doesnt hurt bad.

TAKING IT OUT--------------------

the string hanging out of your vagina you just pull it

if its damp then it will not hurt and you will not feel a thing

then wrap it up good in tolet paper and depose in trash.

ALSOO

your mom said you guys didnt have the money because she porbably doesnt want you to try one.

HOPE I HELPED

I think there is even a special size for 'beginners' like you.

Well, to find ur whole i hard to explain lol. I guess just reach around down there with the tampon till u find it.
With the tampon in the applicator, slide it in as far as you can without losing the grip on the applicator. holding the bottom end of the applicator, just slide the top half out and tada! lol.
Some applicators are flushable, but if not, then just wrap it up in some tp and throw it out.
To take it out, you just simply pull on the string, but very slowly and carefully.
When you pee, it doesnt do anything, you might get some on the string but thats ok. Just make sure not to accidentally pull on the string when you wipe!
Hope that helps.

no big deal, You just insert the tube and all then once it is inserted there are imprints on the side of the applicator where your fingers go. Insert it until your fingers and then gently press the plunge. remove both the tube and applicator by just pulling it out. Wrap in tissue. It will leave the cord for removing it. To remove it just pull the cord and they are flushable but parents go haywire if you flush them. Just wrap them up with tissue and discard. (if you live in town and have city septic they may not care but if you are in country then they will make it hard on your septic system, so my parents say) When you pee it comes out of the flap of skin above your vaginal hole. Which is also referred to as your clit. you will never get a tampon up there! Sit with your legs apart on toilet and it is the center of your bottom. Not where you poop but the other one. Whenever you go to the restroom change your tampon so you don't get bacteria from cross comtamination. Do not leave it in for longer than the 6-8 hrs . It can cause Toxic Shock Syndrome. Read the insert in the box when you get them and also might want to wear pantyliners to protect your undies. They are definately better than pads and you will sometimes forget that you have them in so be responsible you don't want to get TSS. Get the multipack and switch for your flow. If you notice that your tampon hardly has anything on it when you change it move down a size.

Considering your age and being a first time tampon user I would recommend The Tampax Pearl Junior tampons. They are slender and very easy to use and are not costly at all-maybe $5.00 tops.

Most tampons come with illustrated instructions on how to insert the tampon. You can either insert it lying down, standing up or squatting over the toilet- I prefer the latter. You will know if it's inserted properly because you will not feel it inside of you. Of course this being your first time you will be a little aware that it's there but that will pass in time. If you feel a tugging or constant discomfort then you haven't placed it in properly or far enough inside.

Do not pee with the tampon inside you, you have to remove it each time you use the bathroom. You wipe as you normally would. You can flush the tampon but you have to discard the outer applicator in the trash. Just wrap it up in tissue and toss.

Don't freak out, you'll be fine! As time goes on you will become more acclimated with yourself and how to insert a tampon and become an "expert" tampon wearer like millions of us!

Good luck!

well if you cant find your hole than what you have to do is move around with your finger until your finger slips in a hole and than u shove the tampon in the hole and than leave it in til it absorbs all your blood and than u pull it out and put a new one in/ have you ever put a tampon up your butthole. try it and tell me what happens
