If you had to choose: Pads vs. Tampons?!

Question: While each have their own benefits and flaws. I want to know people's opinions. Fight for which one is better and WHY, put up a good argument. I'm interested. Thanks for answers!

TAMPONS!. you feel clean all the time and you don't even know you are wearing one. They have super, medium, and light tampons for whatever you need it for that day. PLUS, you can even go in the water with them...with a pad you cant. When you wear a pad you get blood all over your p u s s y and it feels like you are wearing a diaper and who wants that?! ewww NOT ME!

tampons for light days and pads for heavy ones

I like pads. I don't like the feeling of walking around with a foreign object in my body collecting blood. Sometimes women wear pads with tampons because blood can seep through. I just feel safer with pads since they're on the outside of my body.

tampons.... i have really bad cramps, and when i use pads its like a constant reminder that im on which seems to make it worse. plus they're messy, plus, (sorry guys for this) if you're unshaven, the agony if you get stuck to a pad with dried blood etc.........

on the plus side for pads, less chance of TSS.... but still a nuisiance. peace out x

tampons because I don't feel them

I love tampons.

Pads make you feel like you are wearing a diaper and that everyone can see it.

Plus you can't wear pads in the pool or water, and it sucks wearing them for sports.

Tampons are a must have for water sports on your period and are excellent for sports.

I prefer tampons because when you have periods and you use pads it gets very messy and you have to worry about wiping up all the blood and goo when you use the bathroom. If you use tampons and change them often enough you can wear pretty much anything without worrying about leakage and having blood on your clothes.

i prefer tampons, but i find pads easier to use

Tampons, I seem to have fewer cramps when I use tampons. I am also really active and pads chafe on my inner thighs if I'm running or exercising to the point it can cause painful sores.

Studies have shown that tampons are perfectly safe if you use the lowest absorbancy one that you need, and don't leave it in for more than 8 hours.

I usually use tampons. They seem more clean for me. Though when I am extremely bloated and cramping I use pads because it hurts less. It may just be me but when I am cramping really bad and wearing a tampon it feels a lot more intense.

Personally, I think that wearing pads around during your period is quite disgusting( except for bedtime) for the following reasons: the odor, you feel self conscience all day about blood leaking through your underwear and onto your pants, and if you have any hair down below then it gets all matted together. YUK!!!
I use the super tampons which are very absorbent and I also wear a light pant liner as a back up. Some things to watch out with with tampons: Don't forget to take them out, don't sleep with them in, don't pull them out dry(do it while your urinating), Make sure you put them in far enough in( if you don't, you'll know it because it is very uncomfortable and sometimes painful). I hope this helps!

PADS, PADS, PADS!!!!!!!!! My own experience I don't see how a tampon can hold all that blood!! Then you have to worry about that Toxic crap they warn you about on the box. I feel much more comfy changing a pad!!!!

tampons are definitely better. Unfortunately for me I can't wear them. I used to wear them and nothing else but for some reason after having children I can't wear them because it hurts to wear them. They don't stay in good and I have tried every brand, every type and nothing works. I feel like I am just shaped different after popping out 4 kids and so they are no longer comfortable.

I hate wearing pads, they are so gross but I have no choice.

I am on the pill now, so my period aren't really heavy. I use tampons all the time. I hate pads. I think they are uncomfortable, it is easier to have leakage, and they are kind of gross. I feel much cleaner when I am wearing a tampon.

When I wasn't on the pill, my period started off heavy, so I would use tampons and a pad. I didn't mind wearing both because the pad didn't really get saturated, it just caught the extra if the tampon overflowed before I got a chance to change it.

Overall, I would pick tampons-no contest.

I absolutely cannot wear pads. They are completely disgusting. I feel so dirty from the moment I put one on. After I had my daughter they gave me pads to use at the hospital and I was so nausiated. You cant even feel tampons, they do the job and keep all that yuck from ever touching your body. Pads are messy and everytime I change one I feel like getting in the shower and washing up down there.

pads i think its safer way

Tampons! I think they are more comfortable! When I wear a pad I feel like iam wearing a diaper! N plus tampons are sooo.. much easier to carry around in your purse!

I don't use either. I always leaked when I used pads and that's just embarrassing. Tampons are a pain because I have to change them every 8 hours at the max and I always seemed to soak through them too quickly- sometimes after two hours.
So I use the Instead cup. It's a small, flexible plastic cup that sits inside the vagina, collecting the blood. Since it doesn't absorb, I don't have to worry about TSS and I only have to change it every 12 hours. Since it sits inside me, I don't have to worry about leaking and staining my bedsheets at night.
