Mid-cycle bleeding on birth control...not TTC....had D&C 2 months ago?!

Question: My husband and I had a blighted ovum back in November after TTC our second child and my periods have been two weeks on, two weeks off since then.

I am on and have been on birth control since the d&c (Femcon Chewables) but I can never seem to regulate my bleeding.

I have copied my FF chart (tracked my bleeding, but not for TTC) and pasted it here. How long is this surprise bleeding going to last....and on birth control as well?

It usually takes about 3 months for a woman's body to get used to the extra hormones. I had spotting the same as you are describing for the first three months of my being on the pills. It then regulated itself. It could also be that the pill is not the right pill for you. See if it regulates itself and if it doesn't, call your doctor, they will probably change the pill you are on.

When I had twice-monthly bleeding, this turned out to be a symptom of a pelvic infection. Maybe you got one as a result of your D&C procedure. I'd go have my gynecologist take a look.

If you don't have an infection, it's probably the pill. If the breakthrough bleeding doesn't stop soon, that probably means you need a pill with a higher dose of hormones.
