Is it normal to have a thick white discharge all the time?!

Question: I always have this thick white discharge. Ive been to the doctor in the past and everything comes up normal. Its just annoying cause I always need to wear a pantyliner. It seems to get worse the closer my period gets. If this is normal what can I do to decrease it?

It's called cervical mucus and it is definitely normal. It is actually one of the fertility signs which many women use to determine when they ovulate. During the most fertile times of a woman's cycle, the increased estrogen causes this fluid to be secreted from glands around the cervix.

As far as regulating (in your case, decreasing) the amount... vitamin A (which is found in carrots, spinach, and other leafy green vegetables) seems to work for many women. Some during your cycle (around ovulation) is definitely normal and GOOD, though!

it is your hormonal make up. Speak to your doctor about the excess. There maybe a solution, such as birth control.

dear, its not normal to discharg all the time. look for a specialist in woman affairs cos that might cause you some damages which will give easy access to STDs

Not all the time. Usually right before your period -- it is likely. The rest of the time should be thin, clear for the most part. Call the doctor office again and explain it again. If you don't get the attention you deserve then seriously consider changing to a different doctor.
