Long menstrual period?!
Question: I have a 15 month old baby.. and ever since my period came back after the birth.. I have 9-10 day periods.. before he was born they were 6-7 days long.. they told me it would go back to normal after 2-3 months but it never did.. I am on the IUD is it possible that it has to do with my birth control? any of you experiencing the same problem? what should i do?

I have an IUD also,I'm on the Mirena.I have noticed that my periods seem lighter but last much much longer than normal,(9-13 days)i heard the Mirena IUD is suppose to lighten your period,shorten the length of time or completely stop it all together,but in my experience it has only gotten lighter,I've had it for a year and a half,I would ask your doctor.
If it's Mirena you need to talk to your doc because they are supposed to make periods lighter. If it's Paraguard, yes it is the reason your periods are longer.
While longer and heavier periods are a common side effect of ParaGard, you really should talk to your doctor if they are consistently over a week long. S/he may be able to recommend Minera or another IUD that isn't going to cause that side effect.
