What you are experiencing are second stage Braxton-Hicks contractions. These are still just the 'getting in shape' contractions, and you are NOT in final labor, yet. The contractions may let up for up to a week or more, or they may continue until you go into real labor. You'll know the time is close when you don't have any contractions or get them for only an hour or two at 4-5 minutes apart with several hours between these sessions. You'll suddenly get TONS of energy, and you'll look around your home and notice that 'nothing looks nearly clean enough' and want to tear the whole house apart and clean everything from top to bottom. When your real labor starts, it will feel markedly different ... the contractions will be harder and should start at the top of your belly and 'roll down' to the bottom. You should call the doctor when they are 4-3 minutes apart unless you have been instructed to go in to the hospital sooner by your doctor. Hang in there, mom ... you are almost there, and your life is going to CHANGE COMPLETELY in a few days ... but the 'prize' you'll get for this is the BEST EVER!

yes.

take a hot bath or go for a walk (uphill). that usually starts things!

i can't really help you, but i would suggest you call your doctor for he/she is the only person who would give you the best advice!

Good Luck and Congrats!! =]

the exact same thing happened to me... your probably havin an early labor..or braxton hicks but that doesnt sound like it... get ready to have that baby soon mama! CONGRATS

yes you are having contractions....if you think you have lost the mucus plug, don't take a bath only shower.. when you start to feel like you have to go to the bathroom on and off(even if you don't actually go) just the feeling. that is true labor! take it from me....with my second child i was at home and by the time i got to the hospital i was dilated at 7.... they induced my first so i didn't know what to feel...best wishes!!

walk a lot, seriously, you've passed your mucous plug, so you are likely in early labor, if this is your first, it's going to take a while so be patient, and walk a lot. Once your water breaks, then head to the hospital.

Why the heck are you asking here? Call your doctor and get yourself checked out!
