You can try heating pads and advil, but when the pain is that bad, there's not a whole lot you can do without a doctor's help. You can tell your mom that you want to go to the doctor's to find out what you can do for your cramps. The doctor may recommend going on the pill. But if you are having pain that severe, you could have endometriosis, which has other treatments.

Pampran and Midol don't work -- you need to buy ALLEVE, which is made of the same prescription medicine that the doctor would prescribe you. Take 2 or 3 and you'll be fine. I'm not sure why you don't want to tell your mom though. There is nothing wrong or bad about your period and your cramps. The pill doesn't necessarily help the pain. Exercise also helps the cramps go away, as does a heating pad, hot water bottle or hot bath!

omg that happened to me too!! the cramps travel to your legs and its hard to walk..
well first off stay away from carbonation near your period and when your on it..
i used to take hot baths and my mom gave me a vicadin..but i think your too young for such strong pills..
so i think you might have to tell your mom about the severity of your cramps and let her know it might help you out..
i never went on the pill.i just excercised more and quit carbonation.
and if your annemic try and eat more beef i found that to really help me out..im a bad annemic

Hi, what you have is called primary dissemorreah. it means that you get bad cramps with your period. first of all, you need to go to a gynocologist for an exam to make sure there is nothing bad causing it...if it is just "normal" than they can give you a perscription for triple stregnth motrin...which may help only a bit. you should take motrin- an antiprostiglandin- (those prostiglandins are what make you hurt) about two days before your period is due...to build them up. I had it. When my daughter had it, at 14 we did put her on the pill. it helped somewhat, but then we switched to the pill that goes for 3 months, so usually she would get sick every other time. this way it means she only gets sick 2 times instead of 12. My parents wouldn't allow me to go on the pill....I just told her that when she met the right guy and they talked about sex, her saying she had been on the pill for years might be misunderstood...and if he was a jerk about it, then he wouldn't be the right guy. It is a real medical condition, and if a doctor sees you during it, they will even find that you have your blood vessels in your eyes having contractions! I hoped by now they would have found a solution to all this. good luck.
