For ladies on the pill: What pms symptoms do YOU get each month?!

Question: Are they less severe from being on the pill?

Answers: Are they less severe from being on the pill?

Physically, being on the pill is way better than not. I'm 34 and was on the pill for years then went off because the pills I was on were causing serious mood swings.

While I was off the pill, my period was on average 2 days longer, I never knew for sure what day I was going to start, I had bad cramping, back pain, fatigue, grumpiness.

On the pill, my period lasts about 3 days, it's much lighter, it always starts the same day. I still get tiredness. The pill I'm on now is better than the kinds I have previously used - I'm not completely crazy on them, but I still do have bad mood swings and slight depression the day before. But knowing when my period starts, I can expect to not have a great day and try to plan for that if necessary.

They were for me!!

When I stopped the pill for a few months, I had really really bad cramps, and now that I take the pill, they aren't so bad.

The pill helped a little bit with my PMS. I have horrible PMS every month but I honestly didnt see that much of a change to even stay on the pill. My period is pretty much on time every month and I dont have unprotected sex so I took myself off.

i was on the pill for 3years and i was all fine with it. i did not have any side effects. but now i have lost my libido completely.

Before I went on the pill I always had pretty bad PM symptoms, especially really painful breasts, and cramps for at least four days before.
The first time I went on the pill I had the same symptoms ALL MONTH - it was hell. So I went back to the doctor and she gave me a different pill - then I had pretty much the same symptoms as before I was on it at all. So I went back again and she gave me the pill with the lowest amount of estrogen in it (I think that's right - the lowest amount of something!), and now I don't have any symptoms at all! Bliss!
