I feel my Ovaries--for the first time I think....?!

Question: I am 22 and have a regular period. It is not time for my period, but maybe a egg is being released?? Either way, I woke up about 2-3 days ago and while in the shower, felt a bump in my lower abdominal area. In the same location on the other side of my body was another bump. After further research, I know they are now my ovaries, which I've never really felt before.

They feel like small rocks, and when I move or lean against something I can feel them being there now, which woman knows isnt normal. It's not that they have a sharp pain, but discomfort. Any ideas what is causing this??

You could have cysts, which may get bigger and smaller in response to hormonal changes. The discomfort you feel could be ovulation cramps. Some women get those. One thing is not necessarily related to the other, though.

At your next pelvic exam, mention to your gyno that you can feel something like rocks where your ovaries are supposed to be, and at what time during your cycle you felt it. The doc will then be extra thorough when feeling them.

You may wanna see a doctor.

You shouldnt be able to feel ur ovaries, unless ur really thin and laying down...I would go to see a doctor about that, u could have a cyst (which u can physically feel, depending on the size), and it would cause discomfort. There are so many things that could be wrong, I would make an appointment and see a doctor. Good luck! Hope all ends well.
