Skipping period with Orthocyclen?!

Question: have been trying to skip my period using birth control. I am takin ortho Cyclen which is a monaphasic pill, so I thought it would work. Last month i skipped my sugar pills and everything was cool, but the week after i started to spot, so i just stopped taking the pills for a week to have a period. Then I started the new pack this month, and once again a week after I skipped the sugar pills, i am spotting. My question is, should i stop taking the pills again, or will the spotting just last like a normal period????

It takes a while for your body to adjust to the longer cycle length. If your spotting is heavy enough, Id take a week off and let your body have its period. If its tolerable, try to hold out so your body will become more used to the longer cycles. However, remember the longer you try to make ur cycle, the more chance you will have spotting past the first month.

I take the exact the same thing. Stopping and starting the pill will actually MAKE you spot and I really don't recommend it for your body anyway.

The best advice I can give you is to consult your physician.

If you would like only 4 periods a year, try Seasonique or Seasonale. Each pack comes with 91 pills, 84 active pills and 7 sugar pills.
