It can take any where from 1 month to 2 months for your cycle to become regular again and it can take up to 3 or 4 months before the cysts become so small that they will not cause you any more problems. It also depends on the pill that they put you on. Make sure that if you get no relief and your period does not become regular within 2 months of being on the pill to go back in and let your Dr. know so that he can put you on something maybe a bit stronger. Also try to take your pill at the same time every day, when I was on the pill I would put it on the bathroom counter next to my toothbrush so that I would remember to take it every morning when I brushed my teeth.
