What would cause a period to last over a month?!
Question: I didnt have a period for 6 months straight (some very light spotting 2 times during that). Then about a week before christmas I started my period. It has lasted this entire time. It stopped fully for about 3 days but then started back up 2 days ago. I have been to the DR and he said its all in my head. What could really be the problem? Is this really normal?

I had this happen before, it lasted for 8 months for me and was a pain in the ***. I suggest you see a gyno, they are the only ones that can tell you what is, if anything, truly wrong. BTW, any doctor that says that it is all in your head should not be a doctor. That isn't helpful and makes you feel silly for even saying anything. I suggest you find another doctor, and fast. Good luck
have you had a depo shot? if so that will do it. also i think stress will too.
u may be irregular
Its not all in your head. I would go to another doctor.
Thyroids can cause excessive vaginal bleeding.
The doctor said that this is all in your head? What an idiot! Having your period for over a month is not normal and you need to go to another doctor. I don't want to scare you but I was told by my doctor a while ago that when periods last as long as that it could be a sign of a brain tumor in the pituitary glad (my doctor thought I had that but turns out I don't). You need to go see a better doctor, get an MRI, and then see a neurologist. Hope this helps!
