Are tampons bad for women? i've done a little research, and it says they hav!

Question: Any manufactured item that is white is probably going to require bleach in the manufacturing process. But that no more means that there's an unsafe amount of bleach in the tampon than in a clean white shirt you just washed and took out of the dryer.

Some research sites need to be taken with a grain of salt. There have been urban legends circulating for years about asbestos, dioxins, fiberglass, etc. in tampons, put there by sinister money-grubbing corporations. Most of this stuff is easily disprovable. Some of it is only partly true.

Women have been using them for decades and they are perfectly fine. If you use them properly you have nothing to worry about.

Not if used properly. If they were bad for woman there would be just men-scary.

yes, they could give you rashes. but so can pads. my mom and i are ordering cloth ones, so no bleach. its a little weird, and i dont know how they are going to be like, but i heard they work well. but no they dont have cloth tampons, they have sea sponge tampons :/ they are different shapes, so i dont know how u use them...

Tampons don't have bleach in them, but sometimes the cotton used is bleached to be white. You can get unbleached tampons if that bothers you.

They are very safe.

I don't think they are that dangerous,...but then again i have never used them!,...i prefer Press-on-towels,...when i actually do have my periods as they are so irregular these days!
