Teen & birthcontrol pills.?!

Question: so i think i want to start using birth control pills instead of having guys wear condoms all the time.
i'm 16.
what are the stats of the pills working?
and does my age affect any?
and can someone explain the cycle. sugar pills and everything.
i also heard that they regulate your period but what does that mean? so i take the pills, and once i stop, my period should come in like 2 days?

its alot of questions, you don't have to answer all of them. Thanks!

Although pills are aaffective they are not 100% effective even with perfect use. I know several people who have gotten pregnant from using the pill alone. If you decide that your guy is not going to use the condoms anymore it is best to use another form of birth control to replace it. If you use 2 forms of birth control the chance of you getting pregnant is very slim. The good thing about the condoms is that they protect against STD's which the pills don't. With my pills I take three weeks of active pills and one week of sugar pills. I get my period the week that I'm taking the sugar pills. So it's nice because I always know which week I will get my period, I used to have irregular periods. So they regulate your period so that you get it about the same time every month. Some of the pills even help with PMS and acne. Some however can cause weight gain. My only suggestion is don't use the birth control patch. It is very convenient, but it is very dangerous due to the very high risk of blood clots. I stopped using that when I started having pain in my legs. If you go on line and look up birth control options it will give you a whole list of every option you have, how to use it, and how affective it is. Good luck! :)

First of all, you should always use a different kind of protection too. Sometimes the pill have a reverse affect or just dont work for you. Even if they do they should still make your periods lighter so you may not notice the difference.
Most pills ar around 99% affective. But there is a good chance that they will make you gain weight. Atleast most people gain weight... but not a lot.
The sugar pills are just "reminder pills". The week you start taking the "reminder pills" you should start your period. It will usually last around three days.
You also might miss your first period but that is normal.
But dont just take the pills so you dont have to use condoms. Most girls I know that have gotten pregnant were on the pills but didnt use other protection. Think of the pill as your "back up."
Also, in order to get the pills you HAVE to go to the gyno and get a PAP test done. But that is nothing to be worried about.
There is also a packet that comes with the pills that explains everything that I have.

Hope this helps!!!
