How long after you stop taking a BC pill does your body return to normal?!
Question: I've only been on Yasmin for a month and this is the first time taking any birth control pills. After this month (I have 5 more days of active pills and then the week of sugar pills), I am stopping them due to an increase in depression. How long before all the hormones from the pill leaves my system and I'll feel an aleviation in depression? I have a history of depression and so this past month, it has just been amplified and a doctor told me that Yasmin is really notorious for causing depression so that's why I'm stopping it. I don't need for my depression to get worse!

You should start to feel a return to normalcy probably in about 2-3 weeks....or roughly the same amount of time you started to notice a downward turn in your moods.
BTW, there are literally DOZENS of formulations on the market; just because you had this problem with ONE, doesn't mean you should give up on BCPs entirely.
Good luck.
It'll be less than a month, most likely. A lot of doctors will tell people not to try to get pregnant for at least a few months, but it's precautionary. As with hormonal imbalance leading to depression, I'm not 100% sure the amount of time, but I hope that you'll start feeling better in a short period of time.
