Ladies, please HELP! PCOS Pregnant?!

Question: First of all: I have PCOS. I don't ovulate regularly.
I started on Metformin in Feb 07
and Yasmin BC in June 07
until Nov 07.

I still don't know if I ovulate but:
I missed my period (which could be because I stopped BC)
Nausea
Headaches
Cramps
Sharp pains in lower stomach
Discharge

I know...I know. I'm on my way to the doctor right now, but what do you think. I'll let you know if you were right.

Unfortunately, your symptoms are also PMS symptoms, so it's hard to say. Pregnancy wouldn't normally causes those symptoms for another few weeks, so I'd be careful about getting my hopes up. Plus, with a history of PCOS and just getting off birth control, it's highly likely that you are having an irregular cycle.

If you aren't pregnant, I highly recommend charting your cycles to find out if you are ovulating. I have PCOS and irregular cycles myself, so I wanted to know if I was even ovulating before my husband and I TTC. I read the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility which was highly recommended to me by many, many people. It was a life changer! I now know all about my cycle and my body which will make it a lot easier to get pregnant. I started charting my basal body temps every morning, and noting my cervical fluid etc. It takes less than five minutes and by seeing temperature shifts that correspond with my fluid, I can tell that yes I do ovulate and I know when. It is so much easier than wondering!
I can also use temps to see if I'm pregnant or not because a women's luteal phase (the time between ovulation and period) remains pretty constant and mine is exactly 14 days. Since my chart will show when I ovulated, I can be pretty sure after the 15th day with higher temps and no period that I would be pregnant.

I highly, highly recommend reading that book or at least checking out the matching website and message boards at ovusoft.com

All women should know this much about their cycles!
