Feeling really broody!!!?!

Question: ok, so i'm 21, i've been with my boyfriend for over a year we are living together, but i'm not really ready to have kids yet, especially since last year had an ectopic pregnancy that almost killed me.

but recently i've been feeling really really broody and i dont know why!?! i dont think i want children yet and i know my partner doesnt, not yet anyway, so how do i stop this feeling? can i stop it? without of course having a baby! LOL!
Thanks.

i cant help you really i asked a similar question a week or 2 back, im 21 and have an 18mth old son and the urge to have another baby is overwhelming, but my partner doesnt right now think stoo soon etc and to be honest what has helped me is the thought that next time i may have a horror sleepless nights for months a scremer not as well behaved as my son, (i dont really belive it tho) but try to imagine it being the worst, and i think id have to give up my Saturday nights off coz i dont think my partner would allow me to go and see my friends every Saturday and leave him with 2 kids he was scared to death of breaking our son when he was newborn! so think of pros and cons maybe, and maybe the cons (for now) will out weigh the pro and that will help control the feeling, i hope ive helped a bit, im stilll so so broody but seem to have it under control now!

yeh ,working with nursery children or helping out friends with young babies/children can help to stave it off a bit, and give you a realistic expectation of what's involved in bringing up kids.

Babysit some very bad kids. That ought to knock the desire out of you.

Its funny though. When you have your own kids, you will put up with stuff you won't tolerate in other kids. I remember my babysitting days. Your own kids will be different.

But if you babysit for 8 hours and go through the inconvenience and repeated crying it should take the desire out.

Or listen to an unprepared mom talk about how hard it is and how she doesn't have money for stuff and the fun she is missing while her friends go out.
