Birth control pills, but I don't stop bleeding?!?!

Question: I am 21 year-old woman who just started taking the pill this month for the first time. I began the package on the first day of my period as my doctor told me to. But... The bleeding hasn't stopped since, and it's been 18 days now! It's not like a real period, sometimes I just see small spots in my underpants. Or when I go to the toilet, or after sex I sometimes see a little blood. I know that my body has to adapt to the pill and get used to the hormons, but I don't know if I should be worried? I have 3 pills left before I am going to have the 7-days break, so then I guess I'll have to see if I get my "normal" period" again.. I haven't been able to reach my doctor yet, so I hope somebody here can help me. Only serious answers please

I disagree. It is normal. When I first started the pill I bled for 20 days, but I stuck it out because my doctor warned me different people react to this change in hormone balance in a different way.
When I went to get my pills renewed 3 months later, I told her about the bleeding and she said it was caused by my body rejecting the pill, which is normal.
Please don't worry about this, despite what others are saying. Mention it to your doctor when you can next get in for your own peace of mind. However, I doubt it will carry on much longer. Once I stopped bleeding, everything's been fine since and I've been on the pill for over 3 years now.
Leave it another 2 weeks and if the bleeding still hasn't stopped, THEN i suggest seeing a doctor because you could try a different pill. It's just the way it goes sometimes. Good Luck!

Thats not right
i would see your dp
Orr a doctor
this isnt right.

xxo

This isn't normal. See your doctor as soon as possible. If you weren't having problems before the pill then it obviously isn't the right one for you,

dont worry about this too much,i have had this problem myself when i first started the pill,my doctor told me to stick it out for a while to let my body get used to it,but unfortunatly it didn't.
I have now been changed onto a different type of pill and have had no problems since.
talk to your doc and see what she/he says
