Prenatal Multivitamins Question....?!
Question: My husband and I just got back from the OB/GYN appointment and the doctor gave me Prenatal Multivitamins. The name is Tandem DHA Prenatal Multivitamins. My questions are: has anyone taken this brand name of prenatal multivitamins? Are theses multivitamins healthy things? Thanks in advance :)

i haven't taken them, but i've also never been pregnant. if your doc gave them to you, then they're fine. essentially they're like regular vitamins, but with a boost since you're nourishing two people now. the main thing is that you need folic acid supplementation. this helps to prevent neural tube (like the baby's spine) defects. it likely also has increased iron in it since women who are pregnant often become anemic simply because they make more blood (later in the pregnancy) in order to support the fetus. the excess iron can make you constipated, but your doctor can tell you some over the counter meds that will help with that (such as senna or colase). congrats!
