Gardisil? Would you recommend getting it not?!

Question: Why or why not?

Answers: Why or why not?

HPV Types 16 and 18 cause 70% of cervical cancer cases, and HPV Types 6 and 11 cause 90% of genital warts cases.
GARDASIL may not fully protect everyone and does not prevent all types of cervical cancer, so it is important to continue regular cervical cancer screenings.
Anyone who is allergic to the ingredients of GARDASIL should not receive the vaccine. GARDASIL is not for women who are pregnant.
GARDASIL will not treat cervical cancer and genital warts and will not protect against diseases caused by other HPV types.
GARDASIL is given as 3 injections over 6 months and can cause pain, swelling, itching, and redness at the injection site, fever, nausea, and dizziness.
Only a doctor or healthcare professional can decide if GARDASIL is right for you or your daughter.

i dont know. my mom made me get it. even though im too young to be "sexually active". she seems to think i am though and im only 14. what could go wrong if you did get it? at least your protected from that cancer or whatever it is.

i wouldn't get it i think that its just another shot made up to make more money. i had a friend who got it and got really sick. plus if you do think to get it and important question is why and if your going to be having a number of sexual partners

Ok so the best thing for you to be is educated. Gardisil is a VACCINE against 4 High Risk types of HPV (high risk meaning they can cause cancer). It has nothing to do with you being sexually active. It is to protect you from the dangers of future relations and cancer. Like 80% of people in the world have HPV, so when you do decide to have sex there is a possibility of contracting because so many have it. This is just one way to protect yourself.

YES. this is a very common virus and all women who have had intercourse have this virus and it has developed into cancer in many women all over the world. unless you are a vergin and you have only sex with a vergin man for the rest of your life...you are at risk. get the shots so you will not get the cancer. this is a very bad cancer and difficult to cure...a shot will make you safe. its a no brainer.

Yes! Get it! I cannot believe there are people out there that would say otherwise. You may not be sexually active right now, but someday you will be- why not be protected from the virus that causes cervical cancer. I cannot believe how ignorant people are to say "how many sexual partners are you going to have"? YOU can have ONE partner and get HPV. sorry. its a fact. get the vaccine and atleast you know you are somewhat safe! Get it. And do not make your decision based on what others have said on here. If you would like more info e-mail me!

i got it. i haven't heard anything bad but i wasn't lookin for anything either

Get the shots. It could possibly save your life in the long run. :)
