Hygiene down there.?!

Question: I've always cleaned myself with dove soap, not inside the vagina but the vulva. Now I've heard that that irritates it. I've also heard that you should only use water, but then, how clean is THAT supposed to be?
What is the best cleaning method for female genitalia and what type of mild soap should I be using?
I get yeast infections alot so i'm trying to be really careful with my junk.

Never use a face cloth just use your hand and use and UNSCENTED soap. I use dial and I do not have any problems... Also it is not always the soap that does it.. Fabric softener, tight jeans, non cotton underwear, all give yeast infections also. The other thing I noticed is tampons and any pad with the dri-weave stuff on top like on Always pads give them too.

I use a liquid soap called Summer's Eve. They call it a "feminine hygiene" product. You should be able to find that brand or another brand of feminine hygiene soap at your local drug store.

Ivory soap is really good because it is all natural.

I get yeast infections a lot as well. The vajayjay is exactly like a self cleaning oven. It does the job itself and any fake stuff you put around there is just going to irritate it. And yes water is FINE for it. just swish it all around in there and you're good to go. down there is always going to have it's own distinct smell and trying to use soaps to cover that up is only denying the beauty of the vajayjay and will just irritate it and give you more yeast infections. Just make sure you don't smell overly strong like fish or something because then you may have some sort of infection.

try a soap that is specially for women like summer's eve (i think that's what its called) or talk to you gyno.

good luck

They have soaps/cleansers that are made specifically for that region. I don't remember what it's called but it's made by Summer's Eve, and you can find in K-mart, Walmart of grocery stores (most of them, anyway) in or around the tampon and pads, or sometimes w/ the soaps.

speaking from experience...

i use dove soap (the hypoallergenic type) and i feel it is mild. my doctor told me " don't over wash that area." "and do not douche." your vagina has a natural balance of bacteria & yeast etc. over cleaning (or under cleaning) can cause an imbalance and cause an infection.

I have begun eating yogurt regularly and that helps me alot.

good luck

You are getting the yeast infections because you are using soap down there. use only water, and don't be scrubbing with a cloth or puff brush, they can carry bad bacteria. I know it sounds weird, but use your hands. you should notice the infections will clear up.

keep with dove.im not in to soap but dove is a good soap

you might be not wipein your self right so don't worry about a thing cuz every little thing going to be alright ok

Summer's Eve products are made specifically for that area. They are gentle and get the job done!

They have female wash for that. down the same isal as pad.

Any anti-bacterial soap will cause a yeast infection, I won't buy it and never have it in my shower area, it does exactly what it says Kills Bacteria mostly the good bacteria that we have allowing the bad bacteria to take over causing an infection.
Talk to your doctor but if Dove works and doesn't cause irritation for you then don't worry.
All those douches on the market are bad for you, unless your Doctor tells you otherwise you should only douche with water after your period if you must.
Douching isn't really necessary but a lot of women want to after their cycle.
Women's (junk) is naturally balanced with Bacteria anything you add to the mix has consequences, if you take baths any bubble bath or soak will affect it, get used to reading labels,
if you swim in water, it swims in you, I never go into the river, I just think "if fish are getting cancer in there" not to mention the sewage that goes into the water, ewww.
Women don't naturally stink like fish, if you notice a bad odor see a Doctor.
Take care of your (junk) because if you don't it could affect whether or not you have a family or even how long you live.
Remember Mother nature made you healthy, everything (ideally) works fine on it's own, Your not supposed to smell like cherries down there, just use a gentle soap on the out side and only water on the inside, if you chose.
As long as you shower regular and your healthy (no infections)
Then it's all good.

Try Ivory Bar soap, it is very mild an cleans good.

a good bar of semen always does the trick
