What should i eat during my menstrual cycle to reduce cramps?!

Question: Hey, I have terrible cramps Too!!!! (So bad that next Thursday Im having surgery for it.) Anyways, here are some foods and drinks.

Apples have lots of vitamins, so they tend to help. I have also heard that bananas are helpful. Drink lots of fluids, and warm is better than cold. Also, avoid soda and salt, because they cause bloating and clots. Red meat and salad have iron, which your body loses during your cycle, so they are good to eat as well. Acidy foods sometimes tend to cause more cramps and so do some fruits. Light excercise helps too because it relaxes your muscles. Try yoga or meditation to relax yourself. Sometimes you might crave like chocolate and stuff, and thats fine, eat what you want. NO FAST FOOD!!!! all that grease is just terrible. also, midol sometimes helps with cramps, but if not, talk to your obgyn about getting a pain killer like vicodin (thats what i take). Raisins tend to help as well. Good luck! Blessings,

Jacqueline

try eating a banana... for some weird reason they always help me!

bannanas, iron pills, and drink lots of fluids. also put a heating pad on your belly, the heat relaxes the muscles. do some basic streaches, that helps too!

No caffeine, salty snacks at a minimum because they make you bloated. I never really have cramps but when my cycle comes I cut off sodas with caffeine COMPLETELY

non-gassy fruits and vegetables.

Something that works for me is: A cup or two of hot tea with honey, and I never have any dairy products until after my cycle is over. But if all else fails try the otc pill aleve and a heating pad. Hope it works out.
