Soccer vs period?!

Question: Trying out for soccer soon cause my dad says I have to =[
I just basically gave up on sports when I got my first period....im 13 btw. I just figured I wouldnt be comfortable running around with a nasty pad in my pants.....lol......but I just started using tampons like a week ago. Im just afraid of not being able to play well because of my period. Cause I bleed ALOT. it gets uncomfortable (not cuz of cramps). I dont wanna have to run into the bathroom every hour to check myself....and I dont wanna be running on the field and blood start to drip down my leg...i know im overexagerating but still.....any tips??? plz and thanx

just use a tampon
it wont drip down your leg

usually when i play soccer and am on my period my flow actually slows down
don't know why just does

plus my cramps go away when im exercising
it sucks for the first five minutes but after a while it gets better

sounds like a personal problem

Use super tampons and a very light pad together if your flow is really heavy. Make sure that you change your tampon frequently.

use a pad and it wont drip. i play soccer and have my period. u kinda just forget about it when ur playing cuz ur so into the game. nothing to worry about!=)
hope it helps!<3

i quit sports cuz of the same reason! idk what to tell ya..i quit and i regret it..sumtimes...lolz..try and see what happens maybe u can do it.

The same thing happend to my cusion. You just need to give it time. Hopefully before soccer try outs your period stops, and then you just need to wear a thin pad. Thats what I do now, for Volleyball. Dont be ashamed to be a girl. Live it to the fullest.

if your bleeding alot, you could possibly stay home. when i was in soccer it was usualy a hour, hour and a half at the most so it wasnt realy a big problem.

exercising ALWAYS slows down my flow. try it once, if you dont get your desired results or are too uncorfortable, maybe explain it to your dad (if thats too awkward...dont, I know I never could) if not try to think of a good excuse ;-)

Pads really do feel gross, you're better off for switching to tampons. If you're really worried about your heavy flow, use a super or super plus tampon. If you are still worried, put a light panty liner in there as well. I promise you it will not run down your leg.

Now get back on the field!

first off...you're a beginner, you're allowed to overexagerate. sorry your dad's making you play (i know what that's like) take plenty of motrin/advil or whatever you usually take (don't overdose, obviously) or take midol to target cramps and bloating. tampons are always better than pads for sports, use a bigger size than regular and then wear underarmor short spandex. if you're still worried about leaking, instead of a pad, use a little bit of toilet paper.
the spandex help a lot though, and wear dark shorts/spandex
if you don't have spandex...well, then idk, sorry
or maybe wear sweats if it won't make you stand out?

OK seriously your going to be getting your period from now until your like 50 so my advise is stop worrying about it and just get used to it...every girl gets it and if when u wear tampons you can tell when you start leaking so you can just go change it..and yea i would wear super ones if I were you...trust me your making this a big deal when it really isn't

hey girl
i had the same problem so I used a tampon and a pad when I was playing soccer (i had a tampon in and a pad on)

so just in case that tampon leaks..LOL

so yeah that is what i done

hope i help.

most people can manage to continue sports when they get their period. tampons work great, so do a pair of black stretch shorts, just in case.... plus, it might just be one or two practices per month that are like that, you'd be missing out on a lot of non-period ones..

Try super tampons and just change before practice or a game. If you are really concerned, wear a thin pad along with tight underwear along with your tampon. You will be fine. I had to do this in high school when I was a cheerleader and I never had a problem. I have a pretty heavy flow too.
