Hello,
I understand your feeling exactly. I felt the same way once when I was getting examined. I will pass on the advice I wish someone had given me: You have EVERY right to know the gender of your doctor before the examination. Further, you have EVERY right to request a doctor of the gender you choose (in this case female doctor). You will NOT be questioned on your decision nor judged.
You MUST feel comfortable with your doctor in order for you to be properly examined, and treated if need be.

I hope this helps

Tell one of the nurses at your clinic that you are only comfortable with female doctor.

It's not too late at all. You can Always switch doctors at anytime, he won't be offended. See if that office has any female doctors and switch your appointment to one of them, if not seek out a different office with a female you are comfortable with. I'm 30 and still not big on the idea of a male gyno lol. Plus a woman will know exactly what you are talking about since she will have probably experienced it too

It's your body and your health and you have every right to see whomever you choose. And know that this particular examination is embarrassing for every woman so don't feel bad. I've worked in the medical field all my adult life and trust me you're not the first young woman that doctor has seen embarrassed or crying and he understood.

It's never too late to ask for another doctor, many women feel much more comfortable with a female doctor. I've worked in labor and delivery and actually had one lady change doctors while she was in labor!

tell them to change a female doc for u.
theres nothing to be ashamed of.
i would probably do the same.!
I SUPPORT U! (:

The same thing happened to me. They asked me if I wanted a female nurse/doctor to do it instead, and it made me feel a lot better. Ask if you can have a female doctor instead. They usually have various doctors there.
