The menstrual blood is the lining of your uterus, it provides something for the embryo to attach to and nourishes it, and the body replaces it each month.

i think thats a fib!! it's juz another part of life!

I have no clue. but woman did get the shitty end of the deal....I mean periods, chid birth...i would like to know if that is true!

I've never heard that story, that the period was a punishment for Eve. The only punishement she had was to be cast out of Eden, along with Adam.

All mammals have periods. Granted lots of them only have 1 a year, but they all have one. So there would have been no need for a story to explain, because people would have seen that it was common to all females.

Menstrual cycles (periods) occur in women of child-bearing age. It is a natural physiological phenomenon, built into our systems so that we may have offspring.

No, it's not a punishment from God.

You sound as if you are old enough to have been taught the basic "facts of life," "birds and bees." If you haven't been, sit down with your mother, aunt, older sister, grandmother, health teacher and get a start of education on this subject. You'll also find answers in the health section of your library.

It is just your body keeping a nice fresh new place for a baby. Every month you lose the old lining from your uterus and then you grow a new one. It is not a curse or a punishment in any way. It is the source of your unique power to create a whole new person (have a baby).
You might also be a lot more intuitive and aware of your feelings during your period. It is a good time to rest up figure out anything that's been bothering you during the month. Some people say you are "moody" or having "PMS", but really you are just extra tuned in to your emotional intelligence.
Don't listen to boys. They are clueless about this stuff and they always will be.

Listen to Desert Lady or go to the library and get a book on reproduction. It will explain why we have periods and why men don't. You could research it on the computer but you wouldn't have to look at so many sites in the library.

It sounds like you're very religious so I'm not trying to offend you here, sorry if I am, but the bible is just one big metaphor for things that really happen. As with everything else, its just a natural evil nessesary if we want to reproduce
