if it was your first period hopefully you done the basics like using pads etc.

the period will last between 2-4 days
your periods may not be regular but they settle in eventually
during your period you might get headache ( use ibuprofane)
change your pads regularly to stop them leaking .
you might get cramps in your uterus area which are normal.
you might get bit moody during your periods so try controlling your temper.
you have started your periods so you on way to womanhood so you will notice plenty of changes to your body as to turning into a womanly shape.

hope this helps

i don't understand what your question is hun.

Pain killers for cramps. Hot water bottle or microwavable heating pad thing also works well.

Well. You do need to talk to your mom and ask her all the question. She will be able to help you. it is not embarrassing, it is a natural thing so you should be able to talk to your mom about it. She has gone through it so you just have to get the courage to talk and ask questions.

Go to beinggirl.com because it has a lot of information about periods and talking about things. it helped me a lot.

You might not feel comfortable but your mom is the one who can help you. She will be fine with the questions because she's been through it and knows you will need answers. It might be your chance to have a closer relationship with her too.

Don't worry about asking your mom questions. It may feel awkward, but she went through the same thing so she will know how you feel. And if you are embarrassed about buying tampons or pads, ask your mom to the next time she goes shopping so you won't be there. I felt the EXACT same way you did when I started mine.

your dad knows alot about it cause he been with your mom and knowswhen she on her's u'r period is private. butafter you get used to having them u'll be more open about them.and guy's will be able to tell just by watching you'r bodie. nothing to be ashamed of

A lot of girls prefer tampons so your not walking around with a pad and blood between your legs. You can go swimming and etc. with a tampon. I'd make sure your parents are ok with you using a tampon before you start as some parents dont approve of their daughters having a tampon "in" them. If you wear a tampon, change it every few hours as toxic shock syndrome can occur. I'd stay away from the scented ones as they can cause a UTI. Dont wear one to bed, wear a pad. I'd get a tampax multi tampon pack to start out with so you can test different sizes as you dont know how big of one you'll need until you try it. Good luck. Any other questions feel free to ask....

girl, you really need to talk to yo momma.it will help a lot and she can answer all your questions.or ask me cuz i've been there before.good luck! :)

If you don't feel comfortable talking to your mother, how about talking to an older sister, cousin, aunt, friend, grandmother or school nurse...maybe even your father? Dads can be pretty cool about some stuff.

You probably have a lot of questions, and I know how hard it is to talk to Mom sometimes. My kids go to Grandma about everything they don't feel comfortable talking to me about. Sometimes it's funny because they are boys, and they feel more comfortable discussing "boy stuff" with grandma than with Mom or Dad.

It's always nice to have another adult viewpoint around. Good luck to you, and congratulations on becoming a woman!
