Having surgery . . . . what helps CO2 gas?!

Question: I'm having surgery to have an ovary removed in 3 weeks. I plan to ask my doctor to try to get all of the CO2 gas out of my body before finishing up on the operating table. However, I know that I will still have some pain for a couple of days. She won't be able to eliminate all of that type of gas. So . . . . is there anything else that will help shorten the pain or help me cope with it? I've had laparoscopic surgery before and it is very painful to wait until the gas absorbs.

Hi -I know I already have been writing you via email, but very warm heat from a heating pad sure helped me a lot on the areas I was hurting presumably from the air. My shoulder and right side hurt quite a bit, and everytime I put heat on them the pain was masked quite a bit. Hope that helps some.
