What can the gyno tell my mom?!

Question: What can the gyno tell my mom about my visit?

Answers: What can the gyno tell my mom about my visit?

NOTHING. It's called patient-doctor confidentiality. Unless if you signed some kind of waiver so that she can get the info, they can't tell her anything....no matter how much she bothers them. :-)

AFAIK, nothing. You're the patient, not your mother, and you should be covered under confidentiality unless you're a danger to yourself or others. I think.

I'm unclear on HIPAA, so I would double-check with the doctor.

It depends on how old you are. This also varies from place to place.

However, if you are asking this I would guess that you are in the mid teens.

In Australia, your gynaecologist needs your permission to tell your mother anything if you are 16 or over.

If you're 12 years old or older, nothing at all..not even about if you're on birth control. Trust me I just went yesterday and this is what they told me.

well the gyno cant tell your mother anything.... doctor patient confidentallity!.... but some of them do.... but if its about if your having sex NO NOT AT ALL MAKE SURE YOU TELL THE GYNO THAT TOO!

Nothing, but make sure you make it clear to the DR. and anyone else who has your records. Make sure u tell them they do not have permission to tell your mom or dad or anybody but you info. And if they have to call u back for something they are not to leave messages & can only talk to u, & not to leave a message on a machine. Tell them not to mail u results & to call u. List only your cell number as a contact #.

Sometimes the Dr. have so many people working for them they get careless. Cover all the basis.

It depends on where you live and how old you are. In Missouri if you are under 16 HIPPA doesn't cover you to your parents. The doctor couldn't tell anyone else, but he could tell your parents.

The gynaecologist does not have to tell your mum anything unless you want them to.

if you are in the USA--- nothing ---- as long as you are over 12 yo. in this area you are completely covered by Dr/pt confidentiality so feel free to be open and honest as this is the way you will get the best advice and health care for your needs.... only you can release that information
