A question about the pill?!

Question: Ok, so I'm currently on the pill.
I finished my period over a week ago and only just started taking the pill a few days after.
It told me to start in the coloured section, which are the sugar pills.
At that stage I had finished my period.
I have only just started taking the active pills yesterday and today.
I was put on the pill for medical reasons. (cramps)

The doctor said I would have to come back to her If I wanted to use the pills I have now for birth control.
I want to have sex, using condoms of course.
Do I really have to go back and see the doctor?

If there are no refills on the pill, yes you need to go back. Thank you for saying using a condom. You rock!!! Some girls think the day they start taking the pill they are protected. Not so. It can take up to a month for the pill to work effectively. I don't know your medical history. Your doctor would know whether you need to see her or not, to make sure there are no complications with your use of the pill. I suggest seeing her as she requests. Don't take chances.

if condoms, no

who really takes the green ones

Well if you are using condoms, that is an effective birth control right there so i don't think you will have to go back to your doc for that. I guess the doctor was talking about if you wanted to have sex with just the pill and nothing else to come back in.

heres an easy tip thats easy to follow....DONT HAV SEX

If you use condoms, then probably not. However condoms are not 100% affective; but neither are birth control. However using them together, it is nearly impossible to get pregnant (however it does happen). If you're really worried about it, call the doctor and tell her the situation. She probably thinks that if you're going to have sex you won't wear a condom. But it's never a bad idea to have a backup method.

Yes, you will need to make a visit back to your physician. If you do not wait, however; it is smart to use condoms just as you have mentioned. If you regularly have sex, though, a new pill can be prescribed. I am currently taking Ortho Tri Cyclen, which in the beginning I took Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo. It's always best to stick to the (Lo) though. Good luck!

That would be the smartest thing to do. It is possible that the Dr. put you on a pill that will help with cramps, but may not be the most effective for birth control for you. You can look up your prescription and read about to learn more about the pills you are taking and how effective they are. You also need to be on the pill for several months before it protects you, before that you need to use another type of protection.

The pill, transdermal patch, and Mirena IUD are all supposed to reduce menstrual cramping.

If it's a birth control pill, then you should be safe to have sex (after it's been in your system for a month or two). I don't see why youwould need to go back to your doctor. Make sure you use a condom.

Yeah my doctor told me to come back, too. But no, I'm not gonna go back. It really doesn't matter, as long as you use condoms.

Well, when you are on the pill no matter the reason, you are protected from getting pregnant. But perhaps your doctor would recomend another type of pill for contraception.
