Well my first was an up and down (transverse) incision and yes, I did experience some discomfort when I began working those muscles again. Eventually the discomfort went away. That was twelve years ago so I am sorry to say that I don't remember how long it took. I know that with in a year and a half or so I was doing crunches just fine. With my second and third I didn't have this problem. Oh, wait a minute; with the third I haven't attempted to do any serious exercise lol. I guess I should try to do some crunches in the am. tomorrow and get back to you on that. It is really on the individual I am sure. Listen to your body and do what you feel is right for you. Go as slow as you need to. Your body will recover I promise. With my first I had every complication under the son including the incision re-opening and getting really infected. I recovered, it just took time. I hope that this was helpful. Good luck to you. I just have to say that I am impressed that you are making the time to take care of you. Good job Mama!

Just think about what all the Dr. cut through to during that C-Section!! Talk a trainer about some other exercises.

Yes, go slow and do exercises that are not so stressing on that area. Remember that everything was cut in there. Doing leg lifts a few at a time are better and will gradually strengthen the area. Good luck
