i was discovered to have pcos 5 years ago after having my daughter.the best way to deal with the symptoms is to follow a low -gi (sugar diet) this is also very important if you are insulin resistant which a lot of woman with pcos are.a great web site for you to join where you can chat with other woman who have pcos is www.soulcysters.com
a book which i found a great help is Managing PCOS for Dummies,by Gaynor Bussell, who is a registered dietitian

I have PCOS also, in a mild case.. have aprox 100+ cysts so apparently that's not too serious.

I don't know yet if I can have kids, (tho I've been told there should be no reason why it would affect me) but decided not to look into it until we want to start trying so that it doesn't become our whole life.

I get very heavy periods, that 98% of the time last around 7 days, tho I'm on the pill now so that helps to keep it to the day.

I used to get extremely bad cramps, doubling me over in pain for the first 2 days of cycle and no neurofen, ponstan or naprogesic helped even a bit but now I am fortunate to have a brother who is in natural medicine and his herbal remedy worked in 15 minutes, full pain gone!! Love my brother hehe

I dont really know much about the actual condition tho sorry, only know about my own case but am also interesting in hearing from others with stories or info

I was diagnosed with pcos last year. My doctor put me on birth control and metformin. I am insulin resistant. The doctor also told me to go on a diet and loose weight. I have lost 35 pounds and I am not sure if I still need to be on the pill. My periods have become like clock work where as before I sometimes went 6 months without one. I hope to have children some day and as far as I know I should be able to without using fertility drugs. I am only 20 and I feelt great because I work out often and diet. I hope this gives you some hope. I don't feel that different than I did before I was diagnosed except now I have alot more energy.
