There could be a lot of different answers.

Some people consider it as when you get your period, because after you get your period, you could have a baby. A lot of cultures marry females off at 15, 13, or even 12, because they can reproduce.

Some people consider it at a set age-probably 18 or 21. I don't really know about this one, because different people are more mature or less mature at certain ages.

And other people think its when you get married or when you have sex for the first time. This seems sort of odd to me, because some people never get married, and others have sex REALLY early, so its another hard to measure definition.

Personally, I believe its all three of the above, and maybe more. I think we gain part of our womanhood when we get our first period (probably alot of it) and more when we are older, like at 18 or 21. And we probably get the rest when we have sex for the first time. But to be a woman, you have to be mature, and be independent, and be able to make your own decisions. I know a lot of female adults who probably shouldn't be considered woman, because they act like children. But they are. So everything can really vary.

When you get your period.

It depends on who you ask!

It depends on your culture. I don't think you are until about 16 years old..

I think 18, because you are legally an adult, but having your period does welcome you to womanhood.

I think it really varies in each girl. I don't think getting your first period counts as many girls seem to get theirs at 12 or 13, which in my eyes, is still pretty young. I think whenever the girl feels shes left her adolescence in the past and that she is mature enough to take on the world by herself. There's no actual specific mark or time in a girls life when boom, shes a woman. Not to sound cheesy or like a Disney movie or anything, but when the time comes, I think you'll know.

I believe you are considered a woman when you have a full time job, and can pay your own bills. I know some who are 25 and still rely on their parents or boyfriends to pay their bills and take care of them.. I consider them girls. I would never rush such a thing, because being a girl is so much fun. But nothing is as fulfilling as being a woman and depending on yourself.
