Can I Skip My Last Week Of YASMIN Birth Control To Skip My Period?!

Question: I know people have done this with lots of birthcontrols before, but I'm not sure if it's ok to do it with YASMIN.

I've only been taking YASMIN For A Month & 2 Weeks...So I'm not sure if it's too soon to do that because my body hasn't fully adjusted to it yet.

[A couple more questions I have about this]...
Will I get sick during that week if I skip it?
Will the birthcontrol still work effectively?

Well hopefully one of you guys can help me & give me some information on doing this...especially if you've done this before! =)

Thanx For The Answers In Advance!! =)

You can skip the placebo week to skip the bleed, but some women find it causes spotting during the next month or so I've heard. I've also heard it's best not to do that until after you've been on the medication for 3 months, but you can still do it before then, I think just the risk of spotting is higher.

You shouldn't get sick and you will still be covered for pregnancy (if you take all the active pills without missing a day and the only ones you miss are the placebos, that is)

You might like to speak to your doctor or pharmacist about this though just to check.

Your best bet is to call your Dr. or clinic where you get your BC pills. I definately wouldn't advise skipping any!!! That's not how you stop your peroid.

No! They will not work effectively if you stop taking them. Oh my goodness....ok.

With my birth control pill taking it makes you sometime skip periods or makes your periods extremely short...so maybe this pill is just not the one for you. Ask your doctor about Lutera. It works great for me.

My doctor also told me that to get the full effect of the pill, meaning shorter periods or no periods, that you need to be on it at least a month and sometimes two months for some women.

Pls don't stop taking your pills for a week. If you get off schedule with it then they become less effective and you don't want to end up pregnant. You seem kind of young which is not intended as an insult.
