What can i expect from my first gynacology visit?!
Question: It's called a "Well Women's Exam"
Basically there are three components to this:
1) Pap smear--the doc puts a speculum into your vagina (causes some pressure--not necessarily pain) and takes samples of the cells on your cervix
2) Breast exam--the doc feels on your breast for any abnormalities
3) Bimanual exam--the doc lubes up her fingers and inserts them into the vagina and asks you to relax while he/she presses on your stomach so she can feel your ovaries for any abnormalities
ITS COMPLETELY NORMAL TO BE NERVOUS FOR YOUR 1ST VISIT!
and honestly...it doesn't HURT its just a bit uncomfortable...but if you take deep cleansing breaths, it'll make the whole process easier.
good luck!
