It's pretty normal to feel anxious, even scared about the future, and the unknown. In fact I'm willing to say that most forward thinking people are a little bit scared about the future. For any number of reasons. The trick is, not to let the fear control you, not to let it keep you from enjoying your life. Is it not fear that makes us prepare ourselves before we do anything..even as simple as putting our seatbelts when we get into the a car, is it not a degree of fear that keeps us doing this? Fear of getting into an accident, or fear of being pulled over for not having it on? the point is, this is a type of fear we live with every single day, and because we do, we don't feel it as much...we're only just barely conscious of it. Fear of the future can be the same. If your are mindfull of what can come along in life, and prepare for these things...then when the days come that your mind wanders to things that may yet be, and your start to have a panic attack..one of the things you can do to prevent the onset of the attack is go through a "check list" of the things you have done to prepare for such bad events that your anxiety induced mind can come up with. I have had panic attacks before, and seen many people in my clinic that have regular ones..I know what kind of "tricks" your mind can play.
Some say that people who have fear, have something to be afraid of...I personally feel, that people that have fear, have sense.

It sounds like you have generalized anxiety disorder. If you don't want to take pill there are tons of helpful books out there that can tell you how to cope with anxiety.

Stress and anxiety prevent happiness and if you are afraid of the future its very difficult to deal with because you can never tell what will happen, therefore you are always stressed and ill. I have found that meditation and yoga helps enormously
as it clears my mind of fears and anxieties about the future. I think the key to getting better is to focus less on what is going to happen and more on what is happening now. To do this yu must do things that you like to think about in the present such as sports.
