Embarassing female health problem..for women doctors only.?!

Question: I am in my mid 40s and notice recently that I 'smell' down there really badly. I mean the discharge. It looks normal, but it smells..also when I have my period, it smells badly. I never had this problem until a few years ago. I am in good health and do not have any stds (got tested a few yrs ago and have not been sexually active since then). Any ideas?

It could be a bacterial infection, they are not all sexually transmitted, the best way to find out is to see your GP or go to your local family planning clinic. You won't get an accurate diagnosis online. Don't leave it as you already know it won't go away on it's own.

Still worth a visit to your doctors. Do you have regular smear tests?? Ask for a swab test to be done and get it checked out - if its not a normal smell, then something isn't right.

Interesting question, how about an ammonia smell?

Go and see your GP, sounds like vaginitis, if it is antibiotics will clear it up

vaginitis is probably what it is, see your doctor.

Sorry, but you are asking this on a very public forum, when in your question you have said a solution - "Women Doctors" Try making an appointment and going to see one?
