Question: 2 problems with trying to directly link stress with miscarriage. Firstly it is almost impossible to measure or quantify stress. Secondly to establish if stress is linked to miscarriage, one would need to divide pregnant women into matched control groups, subject half to measured stress levels and look at the difference in miscarriage rates. If this were possible it would not of course be ethical.
